Not only people, also projects need holidays. And it’s time for towards the optimal laptop to have some rest.
For some time towards the optimal laptop was an engaging and profitable project, so I could devote most of my time to it, but during this year the income I get from it has declined a lot, I had to spend more and more time in other matters, and the quality of the site has also declined, specially the English one. Finally I decided to get a full-time job at the company AttendBio Research (remember that I’m a biochemist) and leave the site in stasis.
The site is not closing and the project is not being terminated, but profound changes are needed to keep a site that’s useful but needs not so much time. Some of the changes I have in mind are:
- I’ll migrate the whole site to WordPress (I’m still unsure about the forum), probably using a premium theme.
- The site will feature mainly general advice, probably not only for laptops but also for desktops. I won’t post news from the web (there are too many blogs doing that) or post deals (well, maybe I’ll keep the HP coupon codes). Only a handful of models will be recommended.
- Probably “optimitza” is hard to remember no anybody save Catalan speakers, so I’ll use different domain names for different languages. I have purchased optimpc.com and pcoptim.com but I’m not sure they are OK for an international audience… Any ideas?
The time this migration is going to need is unknown, maybe weeks, maybe months. In the meantime, I’ll try to keep Gaming on Laptops updated.
